Debossing and Embossing
Debossing and Embossing is the process of creating a die which is then used to press a permanent impression in a substrate (most commonly in to leather products). Debossing is when the visible area of the design is depressed in to the substrate. Embossing is when the back side of the substrate is depressed, so the reverse visible logo side is raised.
Below is an example of debossing on to genuine leather. The product is an executive padfolio.
